Aunt Mary Lou's Chocolate Cookies |
¼ cup of margarine ¼ cup of shortening 1 cup of sugar 1tsp of vanilla 1 egg 1/3cup of cocoa 2+ cups of flour ½ tsp soda ¼ tsp salt ¾ cup milk walnuts plumped raisins coconut |
1. Cream shortening, margarine, sugar and vanilla. 2. Add egg, beating well. 3. Add cocoa. 4. Mix flour with soda and salt: add to creamed mixture alternately with milk; stir to a smooth batter. 6. Add chopped walnuts, raisins that have been soaked in hot water till they plump, and coconut to the batter. 7. Drop from teaspoon onto cookie sheet. 8. Bake at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes. I spray the cookie sheet with Pam. 9. Frost with chocolate frosting. |
