About me... |

| I'm just your every
day, ordinary Proud American. I was a patriot before it
was the "in thing." I served America for 20 years in the
Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller from 1965 to 1985.
At the start of my career, the people who ran the country
made the American Government very unpopular. Some
citizens took out their frustrations with the government
on those who chose to serve. I believed then, and still
do, that this is the best country in the world, and the
principles it was founded on hold a greater promise than
any other form of government. I'm very proud of my service to my country. The only regret I have is that as an Air Traffic Controller, I left no permanent mark. I exist in the minds of some pilots that I knew, and the controllers I worked with, but there's nothing I can point to and say "I made that." I have been blessed in life. I have a beautiful wife, Mary... two great daughters, Debbie and Amy Jo... and three wonderful grandchildren, Eddie, Meagan, & Jessica. I must also mention Mike & William... they're the best sons-in-law a man could ask for. All of them bring me joy. I love sports. But what man doesn't? My favorite sport is hockey. I like to watch the games because I know I'm going to see something superhuman and virtually impossible. These guys are on ice skates, and do things us mere mortals would never even think of doing flat footed. They're graceful, tough, and coordinated ... I'm none of the above. Why a web page? This started out as a place to post family pictures, then grew to include my service in the Air Force. My daughters say they're finding out things they never knew. I will continue to write and post about my career and where I served. This is the beginning. |
